Default TV cable problems

I have a 1990 Ram 250 with an automatic. Having problems with the TV cable having what I believe is too much resistance when mashing on the accel. Are there any recalls on that cable and If so, does anyone have them and where can a new cable be obtained other than the dealer, if there?
Thanks.

talkin bout a pretty stiff cable? mine does the same thing... just somethin you gotta live with i guess... or you can buy an aftermarket/universal one somewhere that has a smoother operation

Pull the cable off, clean it out good with carb cleaner, lube it with some good cable. You will not BELIEVE how easy the throttle is once that cable is moving freely.

might have to do that... it needs re-adjusted anyways, i've filled the boot with some PB blaster trying to free things up; still pretty rough. but it makes sense so thanks i just wasn't sure if you could revive the cable

Thanks to all who offered suggestions about the cable. I was planning to remove the cable and try the suggestion about cleaning and lubing before I shelled out any money on a new one. I just haven't had time to do it. I would like to swap to a trany with overdrive. Hope to do that before too long.

Thanks again,
Andy Alexander

Guys you need to remember these trucks are pushing 20 years old. **** is gonna wear out...

Try cleaning and lubing the cable. If thats not good enough go buy another cable.
