Trans swap advice
hey everyone, I have a 1990 12 valve, my getrag has seen better days so im ready to do a swap. Ive been trying to find info on swapping in an nv4500, i found one off a 2000 24 valve. Does anyone have any info on wats involved. Will the new trans bolt up, willl the transfercase still bolt up, crossmember, clutch, driveshaft still all gonna work, or will i need some more parts, any input is appreciated, thanks

I believe you are going to need the adapter plate flywheel belhousing and starter with the NV (but I'm not 100%). The 2nd gens had the front shaft on the drivers side as opposed to the 1st gens that come out on the passengers side, I have heard of people just taking the "locating" pin out of the t-case and putting it up but I'm not sure if the output shaft on the nv will be the same as the rag.

t case will bolt up IIRC, bolt pattern might be off but i'm pretty sure it isn't.
you need the nv4500 bellhousing and hydraulics, nv4500 flywheel if it's different, nv4500 clutch. basically the complete NV trans, clutch, hydraulics. then you'll need to fab your mounts but other than that it's not too bad.
