As for finding the leak. Look the steel lines over real good running to and from the coolers and trans. Those are the main source. If it has the old (snap type) style connections get them swapped ASAP. I've had both happen to me, the lines rub together and wear a hole AND have one of the connections up by the front cooler blow off. Paints everything a pretty red underneath

nate, thanks for the insight, from day one i was thinking the same thing (the lines rubbing together). I will have to look into replacing them asap.

as for the lucas stuff, i dumped about 1 3/4 bottles in this afternoon, and the leak seemed to slow down a lot, though i drove around a bit more after that and it almost looked as bad (after stopping a couple more times), i will have to find out tomorrow when i drive her around some more.
