Because I've messed with FAR too many clutches in my day and if there is one thing I hate, thats taking the transmission out.
I know 5spds dont hold boost, but as far as the fun factor, longevity, and mileage I'll take a slow boosting 5spd over a fun soul-less automatic.

How much do those southbends go for? I hate having to spend a fortune on a clutch. Will it last a long time?
to do the whole thing right with the up graded hyrdo, input shaft, and a DD I think its arround 1800.

as for how ling they last ... I have ran the 3850 in my truck for the past year with over 500hp to the ground, driven arround town, hooked to some sleds, few boosted launches, many hard WOT runs for testing, and it still has yet to slip

The ceramic I ran after my rebuild was a grabby bastard and welded at 800 miles. But i'm a little hard on parts. In my book if I spend good money on a part I expect it to last. Singles don't last trust me.
I agree

I've been told different things on singles vs duals.. and people have also mentioned something about a 13" upgrade as well?

I have spent well over 1800 on singles that my truck ate alive. If you want our help you have to listen to us. I have been in your shoes and know how it is. A good double is a hard pill to swallow but that pill is going to save you a lot of heart ache and down time.

Well I'm not knocking the input and help, just coming down from my stroke when I saw the price on that. I guess I found the one lowpoint to owning a diesel; replacing the clutch

So the 13" single disk isn't good enough for what i'm looking for?
What is this hydro you speak of? The actual hydraulic clutch master/slave?
