You won't be killing anything but your clutch with a fuel plate or anything that bumps up the torque.

Ya I'm pricing out clutches now. Not looking forward to a clutch install whatsoever.

basically im saying as long as you dont put more then 500 ftpounds of torque to it , itll last a long time but if you start putting more then 600 ftpounds to it its gunna start slipping little by little, and then one day you will goose it and the motor will rev and nothing happens.:scare2 with the fuel plate just dont floor it in your higher gears especially in od cause in the higher gears is when the motor is guna put more torque through the clutch

Damn well it's def. over 500lbs of torque with this fuel plate in. Guess I better start researching good CHEAP clutches. Southbend, perhaps?

Why are you not looking foward to it? A clutch swap IMO is pretty easy

Don't buy a cheep clutch do it right the first time and you will save money in the long run. A 5 spd is not the best thing in the world to race with, if it were me I would go with a southbend 3200 6 button DD clutch. They shift very smooth and will hold some power

Badass commonrail brother. Thanks for the input. How much for a decent one that will hold my signatures power and future mods?

Because I've messed with FAR too many clutches in my day and if there is one thing I hate, thats taking the transmission out.
I know 5spds dont hold boost, but as far as the fun factor, longevity, and mileage I'll take a slow boosting 5spd over a fun soul-less automatic.

How much do those southbends go for? I hate having to spend a fortune on a clutch. Will it last a long time?

Stay away from single if you want to make any amount of power and have fun with it at the same time. I've gone through 3 single disks in the 3 years I've owned my truck. The ceramic I ran after my rebuild was a grabby bastard and welded at 800 miles. But i'm a little hard on parts. In my book if I spend good money on a part I expect it to last. Singles don't last trust me.
