I'm glad to see we've got some discussion going on. And everyones making their opinion known, It's key that we remember thats what they are OPINIONS....we all know the saying. And each is entitled to their own, If we disagree thats fine but we all need to be friends at the end of the day!

im just trying to explain my opinion on the valair clutch, love the clutch and love the customer service, not my falt someone (hammer) gets butt hurt on other peoples opinions

Andy (Hammer) is well known in the diesel community. His experience and knowledge should be somthing thats of value to us all. He's been in this a while and when you've been around some of the big HP trucks like he has, shooting for all out competition it's hard not to pick sides. He's seen clutches fail, he knows all the basics, He basis he comments on knowledge of products he's dealt with. There's nothing wrong with that.

Making a mark in my book so that when I see you at a show,I put a knot on your head with a Nerf Bat for that suggestion......LMAO!

Lets see now..Better idea.....Gloucester,Va can not be a long drive from my Sisters house in Colonial Smithfield,perhaps a visit to implement that knot may be in order....LOL....May be able to even get you a discount on mediical treatment afterwards if you go to the hospital where she is in charge of the ER.

I am amazed at what happens when you say something about a product or company which people deem out of line or "vendor bashing".Unlike them,I know the complete history of the units I seen fail and the one at the track,I was standing beside that truck when it came apart.But I am guessing my eyes are not what they used to be and I did not see anything.They may say what they want or believe what they want,what I know was from my own eyesight upon inspection of the clutches when they were removed.SO I will leave this at we agree to disagree as its not my dime nor wallet.

And one last item for you tower-Of-power....
Since you do not know me I will let you in on a secret....
I do NOT care if a vendors feelings get hurt when people post about failed parts.Just as they enjoy people who post positive results,the negative results should also have the same space.You certainly do not hear a vendor complaining about their products when they are spoken in a favorable manor.However,let a couple of bad or negative things get posted and the people who make those posts are piled upon like a quarterback scrambling for his life,its called damage control.I kiss no ones azz and pay for all of my own parts,if they work they get praised but you sell me junk and I will post its junk and not smooth it over.Every owner has that right even if you do not like it at all.......Andy

Well I had the 1st ever Valair dual disc sold/installed by Dan himself and I WILL BE BACK!! When I called Dan he didn't know me from Adam and treated me like he'd known me forever. I told him exactly what I was gonna do with the truck and he recommended a 3850 ceramic button dual disc. I was working 7/12's and drove up there on a Friday. Got there about 3 p.m. and left about 11 p.m. I didn't know didly squat about clutches but Dan gave me a tour and explained every part of the clutch and how it works as well as where it came from. Being a Union man I firmly believe in buying USA parts so when we discussed the location of the sub-contractors I was pleased to say the least. Hell he even supplied the beer since I had a designated driver. I put about 20k on that clutch with 5-6 pulls, towing 30k, a dozen boosted launches and even tried a 5th gear pull last year at Deleon. Here's the vid:


I decided to upgrade the clutch to an iron (custom) disc while the motor was out during the rebuild and can't wait to try it out. But for customer service Dan is hard to beat. So before you go bashing a vendor provide some proof why the clutches are "junk" and confront the vendor with such proof and see what happens. I guarantee you ship it back to Mineral Wells you'll be taken care of. I've never known anyone at Valair to not take a phone call and try to make it right.
