white smoke under compression
oh no it doesnt do it anymore since i replaced the rings in the 3rd piston. i was stating my case it what it was doing for me, i know there is a logger up hear that all he did was add a marine gasket to his 89 6bt and it smokes white now, he did the leakdown and compression test and it did loose some compression compaired to the stock gasket

The meare addition of a marine gasket will not cause the truck to smoke white, sorry.
Explain to me what compression he lost by the addition of the marine gasket?.If the job was correctly and the head was torqued properly when a compression check was done then you would have the same amount of ft lbs of pressure on your compression gauge.A compression gauge does not read or determine what your compression ratio is,it just simply tells you if you have the proper pressure in the cylinder. If the cylinder is sealed then no matter what thickness of material the gasket is the compression reading(pressure) will remain the same.
not burning oil, coolant temp. is fine, not blue or grey smoke, and not losing compression...just white smoke when i let off throttle going downhill and usually when cold or 10-15 min after start-up.
