ok i have noticed when im rolling the coal when the turbo finally lights, i hear a squealing from somewere. im thinking my clutch is about toasted. what i dont get is this is a valair 13" 6 speed conversion cluth with full ceramic material and hd spring hub upgrade rated at 650hp and 1200ft lbs and i can tell you right now i aint at 600hp, would doing so many boosted 2nd gear launches cause this to were out?

Single Disc clutch's are not made to do Boosted Launches. If you want to do boosted launches I would recommned a Valair Dual Disc.

i have the same clutch and its 600hp and 1100tq but any clutch WILL wear out over time more power just speeds the proccess up and a single disk is not designed to do any boosted launches thats why they make DDs

Valair clutches=Waste Of Time

And before anyone flames me on this I will ask them to do this as I do all the people who I chat with that have had issues with Valair Clutches....Ask yourself this...

How many known big power competition Cummins equipped trucks(drags, sled pull or dyno)can you name that run and advertise Valair Clutches?.

In 208,000 miles I have had two aftermarket clutches...
The first an old style EEP double disc which I abused daily on the street, with boosted launches, for a tad over 100k when the pressure plate broke. It has been since rebuilt and is sitting neatly in a box just in case its needed.

The second is a Haisley Machine Street/Drag double disc which now has almost 100k on it and has never been touched since its install. Its one of the sweetest driving doubles a guy who does only street driving can buy and still have it do what you want when you want it.

SBC makes a GREAT product and has one to fit eveyones needs and power.Their customer service is second to no one and Peter is also a top shelf guy.The only reason I went to the Haisley unit this time was the need for zero downtime. The local shop here had a Haisley in stock and they did the install and it kept me from not having a vehicle when I needed it most.

Have you ever used a Valair Clutch or had any dealing with them? If not then you really shouldn't have an opinion on them. I have sold several Valair's and have had 0 Issues. 94Cummins12V is having issue's but thats because he does boosted launches on a Single Disc. I don't care who builds the clutch a Single isn't going to hold up to that kind of abuse. I use to offer both SouthBend and Valair to my customers but Peter decided he did't want my customers to have a choice. So I decided to sale Valair.
