Lock Up??
#21
all you have to do to wire one up is find which wire form the pcm controles lock up and piggy back a switch on it and ground the switch, just dont forget to turn it off before you stop or it will stall, i got mine on a montery switch and relay hook to the brakes so it comes out when i step on the brakes, i have a high beam switch on the floor for overdrive also, i just have a billet tc with stock shafts and i lock it up in 2nd
idk about it not down shifting when in lock up tho cause i will keep od turned off and floor it around 45 or 50 in lock up and it will down shift and then up shift shorty after, it will not however come out of od unless it is out of lock up. my tranny isnt hook up to the factory pcm at all, i control the lock up and od 24/7 and the other shifts are govenor controled

Allright guys, Ive been reading this and now im confused. I have an automatic and havnt done anything to it. It has 190,000miles. If I put in this switch and donte use it under heavy acceleration or when the tranys about to shift would it hurt anything? I would just use it when thoes pesky rice burners are tailgating me...

ya you will be fine, i use mine everytime i drive my truck and im not nice to it and my trans is mostly stock, so u shouldnt have a problem if your just going to use it every now and then
joey, if you have od on and you put it into lock up (lets say in 2nd gear) as soon as it hits 3rd it will go into od, basically it skips 3rd. mine works great with the od switch on the floor cause 3rd pulls pretty good in lock-up all the way to 75mph or so, then i just kick it in od, however it does get old as a dd to have to put it in lock up and od every time i want to use them
