Lock Up??
here i'll give you a brief explanation... when you floor your truck the tourqe converter doesnt put out all the power going into it... it runs a ratio and eventually it will lock up and put out all the power. but until that point in time it esentially slips... the switch allows you to lock it up in any gear and it will ony be able to shift upgears but not down gears.. in all it will use all your power.. but you have to have a billet input shaft and a good converter to have one
well i just had a converter installed but it was basically a stock one to get bye with. I am goin to need a tranny eventually but didnt have the money rite now. If you run a lock up switch do you have to constanty turn it on and off?
The lock switch is to get more torque at the top end for your rpms it just makes it a 1to1 ratio so you get the extra torque not to go faster. it is a great way to get better fuel milage out of a auto on the freeway or curisen over 55mph. that is up to you and how you lick to use it. you dont need to use it all the time. but if someone is tailin you filp it on at 35mph and it will lock it in overdrive and the smoke will just pour out and they wont ride your but anymore.
