I installed my boost gauge last night and got a question.... If i dont need to build no more than 30-35 psi on the HX-35, is that measured in WOT or what. I noticed on the way to work this mornin that at 2000rpm i was runnin around 11psi of boost.. When i went WOT it would peg 40psi then it went down to 32 psi at WOT. Where is my baseline of measuring max boost? And i installed the fitting into the left side of the intake near where the afc fitting is at.

it drops down because your waste gate opened and boost depends on your load. but that sounds to be a good safe number.

Your max boost may hit at different rpms under different loads. generally your going to see the highest boost during acceleration and then it will drop off once the pump starts to defuel and/or the load on the engine decreases.

The most you want to see under any condition is about 35psi

the best thing to do is just block the waste gate. with the fuel plate out with delivery valves and a set of injectors iv seen them peg a 60lb gauge. but 30-35psi is where a stock hx35 is most efficent.

next time you see someone hit 60psi on a stock turbo, you let me know so i can come watch them pull compressor wheel fragments out of the head and intercooler

the boost elbow dont give you anymore power than stock, it controls the about of boost going into the head which intern gives you more power, but even with a "high horse power boost elbow" compared to a "brass boost elbow bout anywere else" there is no difference. as for the boost elbow with it closed completly that is no differnet the taking a hose clamp and cutting the flow to the wastegate. in my opinion its an expensive way to get something done that a 99 cent part can do just as good
