I was told by Dynomite Diesel here in Monroe ... always re-torque with either ... I guess its better safe than sorry .....
I think its a matter of insurance either rings ( o-ring or fire ring )..
I re-troque heads even just plain ... after a few thousand miles .. just safe that way .....

If ypu mark the nuts you'll find that with o rings or fir rings either that when you retorque that you'll get quite a more threads each time. If you have trucks that a o-ringed I sugges you re torque them ASAP. I've got a truck coming in Monday with a blown gasket because of no retorques with o rings. If you will go do it you'll find why it is absolutely required! A factory gasket you'll get no additional thread. By re torque we're all talking pulling one nut at a time off, clean it, apply more thread lube andnre torquing one by one, right?
