Default VW Stays Focused on Clean Diesel

While many auto manufacturers are looking to hybrids and electrics, Volkswagen stays focused on fuel efficient clean diesel passenger vehicles. Currently making up less than 3% market share in the US, J.D. Power forecasts the diesel passenger segment to grow to 8% by 2015. Not even close to the 50% market share seen in Europe, [...]

Once again, the politicians and the public just don't get it.

Diesel is and will always be the answer to zero foriegn oil even with the enviro crap on the motors these days.

VW, Audi, BMW, Benz do it, Mazda, Ford, Volvo, Jag, Saab and others do it as well, just not here. Go figure.

its all about the money and image. no one wants to be seen in a diesel because its not "green" and the companys cant justify making the cars with all the enviroment costs that come along with it
everyone wants there electric hybrid crap but that aint going to last very long. good luck finding a hybrid with 200,000 miles. those damn batteries cost too much to justify keeping the car.

But that's the thing, they are green. In fact even the greenie weenie's recognize the VW TDI as the green car of the year for 2009. In 2008 it was the Benz ML. Neither of them are Hybrid crap.

no doubt the new diesels are very clean. in fact once the 2011 emissions go into effect wont the new diesels be more clean then there gas counterparts. i think i read that somewhere. but even after that people still think they are dirty. try telling my mom side of the family who are ultra liberal that diesels are good for the enviroment. good luck! i think vw, audi and mercedes need to do more clean diesel commercials to get the word out
