Low range in the transfer case, Put the shifter in 1 shift to 2nd when you need to, 3rd if you can.

drive down to mineral wells and get dan to put a dual disc in for you. cheapest place to get on installed and the best prices on big clutches. That's the best place to start. imho.

traction bars and bumps stops are a must if you want your rear to last

yes do the bump stops at least, they're cheap and easy, 2" pipe and a piece of flat strap or 1" all thread and a couple nuts. It's much easier to carry the sled than drag it.
