3.55s in the flats is fine, but if you're doing long runs, pulling loads and the Big Hills, or pushing wind a lot, 4.10s.
I had a '96 with 3.55s and if I got into the hills loaded, or pushing a wind, it did better all around, fuel and towing, in 4th (5 speed).

It's been my experience to get better city/low speed mileage with lower gears. I picked up 2mpg going from 3:55 to 4:10.
