No problem... this is what this forum is for...

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the 5.9 in the Dodge trucks come with the SAE #2 engine plate... then you get the NV4500 with the #2 bellhousing, and you will need a clutch & flywheel...

I suggest that you try to obtain a NV4500, weld the 5th gear nut...

Then you get the engine plate, and i also suggest that you buy a good clutch kit...

I have a South Bend SB13125-FEK, wich will hold 550whp & 1100 torques, set me back 800$ but it has been well worth it...

South Bend is a company that stand by their product, i have nothing but good to say about them !

What kind of truck do you have it in, is it a C/K 2500 ?

i'm not sure on the SAE #2 adapter... but if you get an adapter from a 2nd gen dodge ram cummins truck and the transmission aswell.... you can buy the South Bend clutch kit and you will have a bulletproff transmission

Is there a way you can make the OD a manual shift? I have an Advance Adapters OD/gear splitter in my '67 W200 which is shifted manually. At one time in the past they had an electric shift option for them so it worked both ways. There may be a way to do that with yours. It would sure be lot less $$ than any of the other options being thrown out there.

Another thought is you might be able to find something like an old style OD motor to replace yours. You also might be able to find something that is vacuum actuated that may work also. Just some ideas that might help.

it is a chevy c-3500 dulley..only be using it to tow a enclosed car trailer with my AA/FUEL ALTERED in it back and forth to drag strip..before my overdrive stop working i could tow a 19ft open car trailer with a 80 pro/street show car down the highway running 80mph and get 25 to 26 mpg..this is one reason i'd like to stay with my combo because i know what mpg i can get with it..86 industal[bus] cummins/chevy 4 speed manual trans/us gear dual range aux trans and 3;55 gears in rear

I beleive you will be satisfied with the NV4500...

They are both robust and a very well geared unit. I would go with a SB13125OFEK clutch kit, with normal driving you will pull that 19ft trailer 200.000 miles before anything will let out...

Hope i've convinced you enough...

These NV4500 come in Dodge Ram trucks with 3.55 and 4.10 gearing...

My truck has 4.10 and i would see 20-22mpg towing a similar load like yours, consumption would defniately be better with 3.55
