Thanks
Unless Cole is giving the staff free stuff on here too, I doubt I will get banned.

I've got lots scars, broken limbs, etc, but no plates in my head. I always race with a helmet.

I've crashed going as fast as 120mph. I used to race Desert and dragbikes.

I have 10lb of titanium in me. It makes me perhaps more cautious of the risks I take.

But thanks for your inquiry as to my health!

there is another on on Dp that rolled his truck ~ 80mph cclb lifted... barrel rolled about 6 times down the road and minor proturstion to the cabin..... but can located it

.. i am sure someone is going to say that the trucks werent going fast enought o cause damage..
9 out 10 times the side fo the vehicle that is the heavist will land or try and land on the bottom.....

none of these pic show the need for such strengent measures........

Pat

Are you ever going to tell the truth? We raced and I lost once. I left the shifter in third gear after the burn out. It was my mistake and no one else's. Then the same day there was a second race against one of our customers truck that we built. The customer had never drag raced but still he handed Pat his *** in a baggie. So that day Pat lost one and won one, that's the way racing goes. So Pat paid $500 and I paid $500. Now as far as Pat coming over or shaking my hand and asking about a rematch it never happened. He was told what happened and he never came around the rest of the day. As I've said time and time again he makes up stories as he needs them and if you go back and read the forums you can see it for yourself.

As far as a race in the future that's fine once I complete my new truck and he has been told that more times than I can remember but again he needs to put his spin on a simple answer.

This thread is living proof of his BS, no one has ever said roll bars and cages are going to be mandatory for diesel trucks but that's the way he is trying to spin it. The discussion is going on and is being looked into. If you want to bury your head in the sand and say it's not going to happen thats fine but remember you had a chance to be constructive and put forth ideas but chose not too. The reason for changes are simple............ were doing things that SFI never tested for in the past but they are now. There are good reasons why they put weight limits in the specifications and we are way outside of them currently.

This pissing match between Steve and Pat is getting old and one of the reasons I started spending less time over on the Diesel Place. You both have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the diesel world and are both respected by many including myself. Come on guys can't you bury the hatchet with out doing so in one or the others back? Back on the topic the more regulations you have the less participation you will have from the fans and competitors alike. The DHRA does not need this they need a boost in interest on both sides of the fence. I hope they do the right thing, nobody will take a daily driver and put a cage in it, its just not practical. On the side of safety you can regulate all you want but the possibility and likely hood someone will get hurt eventually is still a reality, no amount of regulations and safety precaution is going to stop that.

Excellent Post! The continual bickering is getting pretty old, and nobody seems to be gaining any ground on the subject. I would love to become more informed from both sides, but it gets hard to really give a crap when both sides of the arguement are so heated and cynical. It is obvious that both sides have valid points but there will never be resolution at this rate.

It has been stated before, everybody is welcome here and the topic is an important one, but I dont think either side will win any fans based on the presentation of the facts. Im getting tired just reading it, you guys must have some sore fingers by now!
