If you're getting a revolver, I'd suggest getting one with a modern style swing-out cylinder to begin with. The traditional single action has its place, but the reload cycle gets tedious for everyday plinking IMO. Maybe I'm just too impatient.

Id go with either a Glock or Springfield XD/ XDM in either 9mm or .40... or a .357 magnum revolver (plink .38's, but have .357's in it for the nightstand)... or one of each
