like it says, what would be a good cheap pistol to get started with? i figure a 9mm would be a cheap round. but idk what brand would be good for the price.

What do you mean "get started"?

What kind of background do you have with firearms?

And yes for a first time handgun its hard to beat 9mm.

very little, last gun i shot was a 20 gauge bout 7 years ago. never shot a pistol

i know that sounds like someone who doesnt need to be around a fire arm lol, but i know all the basics.

what im wanting is a good gun, i can put a ton of ammunition through, and not have many problems.

x2 on the Glock! Never had any trouble with any of mine, except the $5 clip ejector button wears out. Glock rules!!:rocking: Get a 40cal.

Another vote for Glock here. Got 2 or 3 of them now with over 10000 rounds thru em. no issue yet.
