you can't convert SPAS12 to automatic. the SPAS12 is semi-auto/pump. it can do both. any SPAS12 that has been made has never been illegal. they are now illegal to import because the US does not like any more "ebs's" evil black shotguns over here. they think it fires too many shells, it holds too many rounds, and it scares little kids. the SPAS12 is as legal to own as a remington 870 hd with 8 rnds. you don't need any special paperwork to own one nor you never did.

they cost a lot because it's been like 25 years since they stopped importing them over here and the ones that are here are getting pretty beat up, old, out of spec, and broken. hell you'll probably have to buy a few just so you can steal the parts off of them just to build a ok SPAS12.
