Yes I know, but too many ppl are over eager to rack a shell in the chamber, when in my eyes by not having it already chambered your ******* yourself out of an extra round. Not to mention to basically give the intruder your location. If it's a guy that's out to hurt you, your now at a disadvantage. Gave away your position.

Yes i have a .22 mag that is on my bedside loaded and ready. The shotgun will have one in the chamber as well. I also have a .410 mossberg by my front door, but i want something alot bigger.

My thoughts on the subject too. It sounds cool in the movies and in your head but if I were ever in that situation I would rather already have one in the chamber. Quicker, and you don't give your position away when you rack in a shell.

Sounds like the Saiga 12 is the perfect HD shot gun for what your looking for.
  • Semi-Auto
  • Detachable Magazine = Faster reloads
  • Up To 20 Round Magazine
  • Pretty Much An AK That Shoots 12 Gauge Means They Will Keep Running and Are Reliable
  • Just Plain Look Evil
  • Foldable Stock Keeps It Short
  • Pistol Grip, Fore Grip Available

Any of the guns listed in here would make a good home gun. All in what you like best. Also there is a school of thought that IF you do use a "tactcool" gun in defence some scum of a lawyer can say you were a "Rambo" out looking for someone to shoot. Thats why my pistol is my first line of defence and my mossburg 500 is second. The Sagia is for when it gets real bad, its in the safe.

Here is my Saiga... A quad rail is next on the list to hang a light and maybe a fore grip.

With 10 rnd Mag

Folded With 10 rnd Mag (Don't mind the mess, I'm in the middle of building a AK47 and some other guns and the Gun room is destroyed )

I have mixed feelings about the warning rack, while it is a universal sound of "****'s gonna get bad" its one less shell. Also gives away the element of surprise, but that is countered when you state your intentions to shoot to kill so some legal douchbag lawyer has one less thing to come at you for (I recommend announcing you have a gun and WILL shoot to the intruder loudly while on the phone with 911 if possible to have it recorded)

Like I said... I'm not sure were I stand on the warning rack... I see both sides having advantages.

Bad juju.... You might turn a guy with a knife into a guy with a knife and a gun.

I always fell you should have a gun within reach if not on you, but take it with you when you go to bed.

You mean like BANG, BANG, then you'll hear, I have a gun & I'll shoot after you've shot two rounds
