I have 4 AR-15, two BUSHMASTERS with 11 inch barrels and 5.5 inch flash-hider, one COLT 20 inch barrel, and a COLT CAR3 ELITE with a 24 inch stainless steel barrel, this rifle has no sights, so I bought a LEUPOLD MARK 4 3-9X36 with Illuminating reticle. It will put 3 rounds touching at 100 yards.

Found one today, $706, not sure about the 11.5" barrel, but with the M-4 I could hit center of mass every time at 500 yards with iron sights, so I hope this one will be as accurate, bit I guess it really doesn't matter. There isn't an area in my patrol where I have 500 yards to shoot. It is a DPMS Panther Arms Carbine.

You should get the short barrel stuff 1st. The last AWB went after the short stuff 1st and the parts all but disappeared overnight. I enclosed a picture of my 5.56mm pistol that I built with a 1.5# trigger pull, 7.25" barrel and reduced length buffer tube.

... True

As an example I just bought a .50 BMG upper that attaches to a bone stock AR-15 lower

Six of the conversions? Or six lowers?

I'm wondering if a non billet lower will hold up to the 50 and/or Lapua

How do you get them big ol' bullets up that little tiny mag well? Just kidding.

I just bought another lower the other night. They are getting harder and harder to come by. I think uppers will be around for a while though even after a ban. I'm hoping the manufacturers will catch up here in the next 2 months or so. I'm tired of playing the wait game for parts. Once I get my paperwork back I'll post up some pics of my latest build.

I'm hopping the panic buying gets over with soon as it's already starting to wind down & manufactures get caught up with the backlog of orders so "normal" pricing resumes again.

I think OB will try multiple ammo/gun bans, but he's got bigger things to worry about right off the bat.

If ya get time come on over to AR15 Armory.com & check it out
