I just purchased the VanGuard2 from Raven Concealment and I LOVE IT.... best investment in a holster I have ever made, and I paid the most for it and it is the smallest.... go figure.... they said it *might* work on a 45ACP, but was designed for the 9mm and 40cal Glocks..... fits both the 21 and 30 3rd gen

Have a friend who has one for his 3rd gen Glock 19.

They don't fit the 2nd gen G19's wish/hope they come out with em for the 2nd gen along with the M&P9 compac....all I can get is the original VanGuard

And it's the most you have ever paid for a holster...they are cheap....I've got a Rosen ARG rig for 1911's now that was expensive!!!!

Yep, nothing like ignoring the fact based data for emotions...

Once a person is vested in emotions they ignore fact based data and end up calling people names, placing labels on them and personal attacks.....

I'll stack my knowledge/training/real world experience up against yours any day of the week about firearms....

You have proven how little you actually know and have shown others that your information and posting about handguns is to be ignored as listening to you will get somebody hurt or worse....and it's prof that on diesel sites you have people venturing way out of their lane pretending to be SME.

I think I saw on Facebook where they were working on an M&P9, either that or a lot of people were requesting that specific model.

Until then, buy a Glock 19 and be happy.

I'm a bargain barrel buy stuff used kind of guy. I think I may have purchased a few leather holsters that were upwards of $50-75, but the quantity to cost ratio is way off when in comparison....

Yep, saw that on facebook & am not holding my breath...will just stick to what I've got for now. Besides I'm a fat guy, not sure the VG2 would work for me....but at that price why not try....

I'm a cheap guy...but believe in buying quality and can't see hanging a $500 gun in a $20 holster....just like the blackhawk serpa...it's total junk and can get somebody killed....so I pay a tad more for quality in this area.

I reload all my ammo so its cheaper than any ammo youll buy, here the price of 9mm and 40 cal are the same 14.99 for 50... Now the 9mm is a good caliber too! espicially if you use hornady critical defense. We shot one into a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and sealed and it blew the top off and the bullet imbedded backwards, and left some fragments.. now I cant say glock has the best accuracy with factory ammo I was shooting 4 inch groups but one day I might upgrade the barrel...

So, looking at your own research, which caliber is "slightly" better? The 9mm or the .40 cal. Do you really want to compare those to what a .44 mag would do?
Who is emotional and ignores the facts? I will try your Raven holster for my full sized 1911. I sweat like a pig and full Kydex is appealing......the Crossbreed is leather and Kydex and is extremely comfortable........I forgot I had mime on buy the end of the day yesterday.

When it comes to 40 S & W ammo, I like the 135 gr. & 155 gr. Hollow points they should mushroom better than 180gr.

like the 45ACP preforms best in a 5' barrel with 230gr...and the shorter you go with the barrel the lighter the bullet should be.

And the 9mm is light and fast...124gr max for the 9mm.....

If your going to a 135 or 155 why not go with the 9mm, same bullet weight, more ammo, faster follow up shots, lower recoil/kick....and same "knock down power or 1 shot stops as the 40 short and week....
In my opinion, if you want knock down power, go with a bigger caliber by all means. But, stopping power can be done with even the smallest caliber if its a well placed shot in the noggin. But it takes lots and lots of practice to build that muscle memory to make a head shot priority. No everyone has or can afford a larger caliber handgun. Yes, bigger can be better, but if all you have is a small caliber such as .22, .25, .32 calibers or the like, you can still be able to get the job done with proficiency. In a home defense senario, distances can be right around 7' to about 30'. One should practice a those distances to be proficient. Use a small target that represents the approximate size of an adult human head, and practice like crazy.
