Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Well, got to the shop today and was greeted by a few packages. In these packages were a couple nice surprises...
The first was that the fenders for the bed came. They are just 36" wide trailer fenders, but they will work perfectly:

The second surprise was something I did not expect to be here at all! This surprise is my Howe Racing Aluminum radiator!

While waiting for the bondo work to dry, I busted out the TIG welder and got to work on my reservoirs. I cut the tops out of the plate with a hole saw, and it popped right into the pipe with the right amount of force. I welded the seam, then cut another hole in it with a smaller hole saw for the filler neck.

As the day went on, my welds got alot better, so needless to say the second reservoir looks a fair bit better than the first, but oh well. This is the purdiest weld of the day.

Here is the first reservoir completed.

It even holds water (amazing, isn't it!?).

Here it is almost where it will stay (not sure if I will move the battery to the bed, or not).

After some more bondo work and waiting for it to dry, I started mocking up the inner fenders for the bed. This is pretty much what it will look like. It still needs some adjustment, and possible needs trimmed in a few places, but you get the idea.

And the inside.

Still working on the bondo on the bed, but I am getting quite a bit closer to being done with it. From the looks of it, Dad has gotten the rear of the bed all finished up, so that's been a big help. I am working on the headache rack at the moment and hopefully will have it done by the end of today. That means the next weekend I have off (which is actually a 4 day weekend for me
), I should be spraying primer, weather permitting.

Thanks! I didn't think I would be as rusty as I am at TIG welding, haha. It's been about a year since I touched one...
Should be going back next weekend/early the following week to try to complete the interior and sound system and finish up the bondo work. Hopefully I can get this thing primered soon and off to the pain shop.

Well, I headed to the shop today to pick up my radiator fan and second toolbox, and got some goodies along the way, as well.
The fan I ordered was infinitely back-ordered, so I ended up with a Derale 16" fan. It's a real nice piece, should compliment the nice radiator very well and is REALLY thin, so I should be able to gain a fair amount of space for the intercooler.

Also picked up some internal micrometers for building motors... Starret precision baby!

Also got a dial indicator too.

Picked both of those tools up for $75
Also, the shop I "work" for does alot of work on SRT-4 Neons. This block was laying around, I thought it was rather spectacular, haha. Notice the wall that you can see, right below the crank journal

Yeah, it's because they have a HORRIBLE rod to stroke ratio and every 19 y/o that drives one thinks since its a 4 banger it can rev to Mars...
Alright, spent a good chunk of my weekend at the shop, but didn't get much work done on the truck. Good news is, the bed is ready for primer!!! The next weekend I am off we will be spraying primer (weather permitting). Then it dries and gets tossed on the truck and taken to the paint shop
Really looking at this December TOTM deadline approaching and getting nervous
Spent most of the weekend doing this to my Mustang:

New 9.5"/10.5" Bullit wheels with NT05R radials, coilovers and struts in the front, disc brake conversion in the rear and 5 lugs instead of 4 lug all around. Hoping to run a 12.5 on motor in 100% street trim. Pull in, crank off a 12.5, drive home. Bottle will be going on soon, but I doubt I will get any runs on it before winter. It's getting COLD here!
Cheers brothas!

Mine is quickly growing. I know they are like the Civic of muscle cars, but dang I love mine. Just like how I love my first gen, it's rugged, it's customizable to exactly what I want, and it's paid off!
Only rustangs i'd ever own are Fox Bodies, here's one i had about a year ago...
Was trying to trade it in on that Camaro but the Camaro owner backed out on it...
This Fox ran high 10's street, 10.7 being the best...
Oh, and it's a Cobra, not sure where it is today...
