Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Going to be ordering some fenders for the inside of the bed. Looking at these, but may need to alter them a hair to fit the 33s. The truck was built around 33s, so I won't ever be able to go bigger (not that I ever will want to). I think this will look better than mud flaps fore and aft the rear tires.
Whatcha think?

Aluminum for the reservoirs got here today. 3.5" aluminum tubing that should give me about 3/4 of a gallon for each reservoir. Little less than I had intended, but that's ok.

Pretty excited to give this a shot, hopefully it turns out well because all this crap was NOT cheap! Lol.

Well, got to the shop today and was greeted by a few packages. In these packages were a couple nice surprises...
The first was that the fenders for the bed came. They are just 36" wide trailer fenders, but they will work perfectly:

The second surprise was something I did not expect to be here at all! This surprise is my Howe Racing Aluminum radiator!

While waiting for the bondo work to dry, I busted out the TIG welder and got to work on my reservoirs. I cut the tops out of the plate with a hole saw, and it popped right into the pipe with the right amount of force. I welded the seam, then cut another hole in it with a smaller hole saw for the filler neck.

As the day went on, my welds got alot better, so needless to say the second reservoir looks a fair bit better than the first, but oh well. This is the purdiest weld of the day.

Here is the first reservoir completed.

It even holds water (amazing, isn't it!?).

Here it is almost where it will stay (not sure if I will move the battery to the bed, or not).

After some more bondo work and waiting for it to dry, I started mocking up the inner fenders for the bed. This is pretty much what it will look like. It still needs some adjustment, and possible needs trimmed in a few places, but you get the idea.

And the inside.

Still working on the bondo on the bed, but I am getting quite a bit closer to being done with it. From the looks of it, Dad has gotten the rear of the bed all finished up, so that's been a big help. I am working on the headache rack at the moment and hopefully will have it done by the end of today. That means the next weekend I have off (which is actually a 4 day weekend for me
), I should be spraying primer, weather permitting.

That's actually a good question. I shouldn't on the coolant one, because it is a pressurized system. On the windshield washer fluid one, I will have to wait and see!
Yes radiator is pressurized but overflow tank is vented and the coolant tube will have to go to the bottom of the tank so it will suck the coolant back into the rad as it cools down the washer fluid tank will have to be able to let air in as fluid is pumped out or it will create a vacum. I'm not 100 % on this but pretty sure.

Guess I will have to research that further... I know my Mustang doesn't have a vent on it.
Just a side note: Speaking of Mustang, took her to the track today to have some fun. Ran a 12.65@106, not too bad for an all motor convertible! Now to get the truck done so I can make the Mustang faster

Can't ALWAYS be working on the truck, can I?
