I am too, but for now I think the cost will be better with the cloth ones.

Been a long time since i read this thread...

Did you crash that Gixxer already ???

I had a K6 with the Lucky Strike dress-up-kit..

These 1000cc'ers are ******* crazy... but they're no match for BMWs new S1000RR !!

Hope all is good...

Yeah.... front brakes were rusty and overly sensitive, best I can tell I tapped the brakes (didn't remember hitting it, but that had to be the cause), as I was in a bit of sand. On the test ride for picking up the bike and wasn't wearing gear, like an idiot. Got lucky nothing burnt through my sweatshirt, only tore up the jeans a bit, and didn't hit my head. Was doing around 30mph at the time. Could/should have been much worse.

And yeah, the 1000's are insane. Mine will see most drag strip duty, I think. The BMW's are no match for the new ZX10s though

Should be healed enough to get on the truck next week. Weather is supposed to be nicer anyway. Might head out today and play around with it, but nothing major...

ZX10s have touch-free clutch and all the Gismos of the BMW ? and do they produce more hp than a Hayabusa ? and weigh under 180kg ?

Not sure, but I saw a video of a new '11 ZX10 walking a BMW pretty easily yesterday in a 9/10ths mile roll race, haha (roll racing is for bakers, not petrol heads, I know, but its easy to eliminate rider error). Both were modded, but it seemed they were evenly modded.

Regardless, mine will be fast enough for me. Hoping for about 10.5 1/4's this summer with all stock motor and exhaust. Looking at swingarm extensions and drop links and straps, thats about all I wanna do.

The BMW has been in development for almost 20yrs !!!

They really have outdone anyone else and i'm not sure the JDM bikes will really be able to catch up in the near future...

Suspension, frame material, ABS/TC/OEM Launch Control... everything on the BMW is way better than anything else we've seen in this area..

but back on topic, any news of the 1gen... i really need to start to tear down my 2gen...

I've been thinking about mounting a 3rd gen body on my frame with my 12valve

ABS and TC are nearly commonplace now. I could add on TC to my bike, and not sure i would ever want ABS, so not too worried, . But, not saying its not advanced, it is, but saying the JDM's will catch up quicker than you expect

The 1st gen is sitting there waiting for primer. It can't get done fast enough!!!! Lol.

i'm not saying the ABS and TC are uncommon.... BUT these are WAY better on the BMW than any other bike, ABS and TC in the BMW are CANBUS connected to a Gyrometer (Gpower measurment equipment) wich makes it smarter and better than on any of the JDM bikes !

You have wheelie protection and yada yada... lots of features...

I'm not saying the JDMs can't catch up, but seeing that BMW has 10-15yrs on JDM automakers in the Auto industry... and knowing that the next BMW bike (competitor for the Hayabusa as a Touring bike) will be over 250hp OEM and a lot lighter than the Hayabusa... makes me wonder if they will catch up anytime soon
