Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Fuel prices are about this high or higher almost everywhere in Europe !!!
Well, I have given up the idea of trying to prime and prep the truck myself. With school and all, I just don't have time. The paint guy is coming out to give an estimate on the primer and paint this afternoon. This will free up alot of time for me to finish up some loose ends on some things and to tidy up a few things I noticed I missed. I am thinking about sending the cab and front end to them in about a month. Should give me enough time to finish up those small things. Then, while its in the paint shop, I am going to get the box sides for the bed and I will have room to work on those and get those on quick, then the bed will go out for paint. Once I get the bed back from paint, the floor of the bed will get cut out, and the wood floor will go in. From there, I will get the windows put back in, and bumpers back on, finish up the small amount of wiring I have to do, and then I will be ready to mount the seats and build the center console. Still looking for a headliner to use, and I think that will round out the entire truck, for the most part.
just so you know i already put a 3200 spring in the pump when i had it if you didnt change it already. also how about i buy the truck back for what i sold it to you for
. awesome work man. cant wait to see when its done. dont get to frusterated. it will all pay off when your driving it and you will wonder why you ever got so mad. again awesome work!!

Finally some progress! Got the cab primed and got it scheduled to go in for paint. They will be picking it up on the 13th (uh-oh, Friday the 13th!)

Got one of the door panels half done, too:

Honestly, this project has really killed me and I am more than relieved for it to come to an end. Still needs lots of interior work, but that stuff isn't too hard. I will be moving in July, so I want to have this bad girl done by then. Unfortunately, I don't think that is going to happen, really...
Anyway... I haven't let her sit out to rot... yet,
. Sound system and seats need bought, brackets and center console need made, bed needs finished and I'm done! If I can't get the bed sides, I am going to be forced to make a custom bed, which will end up being a step side. Always loved the step side trucks! If I had a year to work on the truck, I would convert it to a shortbed, but that's just not going to happen! Maybe after college...?

Mocked it up to double check fitment:

Covered in backing cloth to make the speaker grille less see through:

Started wrapping the grille with antique amplifier cloth:

And VOILA! The door panel all finished! Just need to screw the speaker grille on, but that won't take a whole lot, just need another pair of hands to help me out:

Working on stripping a few parts to get ready for primer and then its off to the paint shop for this baby! I SHOULD have this on the road by the end of June, at least thats the goal. But its all up to the body shop. While she's off at the body shop I have my work cut out for me with the bed and finding the seats, then it should be good to go!
I am finally excited about my project, again!
