Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Thanksgiving break is only a few days away. Dad said he would get the carpet installed and get the center console put together. So, over thanksgiving break, I will be able to finish up the wiring for the seats and alarm, and maybe cruise control, then get the sound system installed and upholster the center console. Once all of that is done, the door panels go back on and the interior is pretty much done (for now).
Work will begin on the bed over Christmas break, and any odds and ends I may have forgotten will be tied and she should be on the road.
Expect some pics!

I actually found them on Ebay, but they were at a pretty local junkyard. These are from most newer Silverados, suburbans, and avalanches. Best part about them are the integrated seat belts... just gotta mount them really solid.
I was looking at leather, but i have no AC so it would just be hell in the summer... and they're pricey!

Will be heading back today and getting to work. Planning on assembling and beginning upholstery on the center console and hopefully getting some dash wiring run so I can get the gauges in.

Got pretty much nothing done today, haha. Got the front speakers and crossovers mounted then had to go work on my uncle's car. "Welcome home for the holidays... now work on a car!" Tomorrow will be full of food, football and napping so it's highly doubtful I will be paying any attention to the truck, haha.
Hope everyone's thanksgiving goes well!

Bad day. Lol. Basically, between moving, I left alot of my stuff at my apartment so I have hit multiple dead ends so just doing some little crap...
Got the gauges mounted:

Door panel mounted.... before I realized I hooked the power lock wires to the windows, haha.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---
Got all the weather stripping installed on the doors... only took me 2.5 hours to get the doors to shut! UGH!!!!
Got the center console mostly put together... and set it on the amp rack. This is what it will look like in the end.

Progress is pretty slow, yet again. Still have the whole weekend to work on it though. Mostly wiring and getting the carpet to set down.
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
Got both doors buttoned up today and got some other things sealed. Overall decently productive compared to the past few days.
Also, my shift **** is cooler than yours.

Leaving to go back home today, but have alot of free time between dead week and the holidays so I hope to be back soon to finish up the wiring. Gauge wiring and alarm/window wiring and a little bit of carpet situating are the only things that need done still and the interior (in front of the seats) will be done.

One more final exam then the semester is over with! Will be heading back to the parents house to get to work about noon today. I honestly think I should be able to have her on the road by January.
I know I still have alot of suspension work to do, but I think that will have to wait til spring when the finances are better and the weather is warmer.
My dad has the rest of this week off, so I think we are going to try to bang out the bed. I have everything for it except the wood and I think we are going to use cheap wood for the winter until I can afford some nice Oak.
Real excited to be back in action!

Making pretty phenomenal progress today! Almost have the skeleton of the bed all made. Should have it together by tomorrow and we should be started with the wood by tomorrow evening... Here are some pics!
Here is the finished center console (not upholstered yet):

Here are the lateral supports for the bed:

And, we decided to bob the tail of the truck by 7.5", so the back of the bed will be where the white line on the frame is:

So glad to be working on her again!

Got a bit of a late start, but we have gotten a fair bit of work done today thus far... Here are the pics:
Bobbed the tail this morning:

Got all the lateral supports made and secured in place:

And got one of the longitudinal supports tacked into place:

Will be getting the other longitudinal support cut here in a little bit and then we will be welding it all together. All said and done, I think the bed will weigh about 500 lbs! Haha.
All in all it is coming together very well and I am rather pleased with the result. The plan is to hang a couple tool boxes under the bed right behind the cab, so it should have a nice well rounded look to it.
