looks like a dang good deal

2nd gen 12v Cummins, 5 speed, 4wd, 200k miles, and what appears to be a really clean body for how old it is? I'd pay $5k for it in a heartbeat.

is the manual trans on this kind of truck, like stiff its like im driving a big rig when i shift its kind of stiff feeling the it moves the hole truck hard to explain, and when i get to fourth gear and fifth gear around 2000 rpm it kinda humms, i was thinking may be low on fluid, and whats the easiet way to check for a blown head gasket it doesnt seem like its creating that much power, i mean it has power just i think it should be putting out more. and are these trucks known for taking awhile to warm up it seems to take for ever to just get to like 150 on the water temp i think it needs a new turbo though i dont know though there isnt much shaft play

this is your first diesel isn't it.

No the manuals on these trucks and the stock clutches are a dream. So easy to use. (Now my 7.3 psd 6spd, THATS a different story).

These 12v's are SLOW stock. Very slow. They are made for pulling, not racing. So yes it's slow and underpowered feeling.

Yes, they take a good minute to warm up. The cooling system is too good for it's own good.

Why do you think you need a new turbo.

you need to get rid of the dang egr system thing that is on there and then start modifying the pump and stuff if you want to go fast

Throw a 4'' exhaust and a BHAF at it right away you'll see an improvement, then go for the afc mods. After that you'll want some guages before you go much further. Nice Truck

The truck seems to be making a humming sound in 4th 5th gear when I'm doing like 55mph and I dont know what to say when I call a auto place for the bhaf and are these tr ucks known to tske forever to warm up

Search BHAF and you'll find a thread with the NAPA part number for the BHAF.

yes they take forever and a day to warm up compared to gassers, chances are there is nothing wrong with it, it's a diesel they don't warm up very fast, the EGR system you have on that thing probably helps it warm up a bit, but sucks the fuel a bit more than a normal 12v and the only thing i could say about your transmission is bearings going out or synchros but some hum is normal in these trucks, remember you bought a truck over 14 years old there's gonna be noises and stuff
