I guess I would be inclined to take off all the parts and replace them with aftermarket things like the intake horn and exhaust manifold are the only things i see that is affected by the egr system

And wouldn't there be some sort of ecu-control over the egr system? Especially if the truck is an auto?

possibly, however like he said it could just be a valve where it reaches a certain vacuum pressure somewhere it would just open and close, obviously an imperfect system, but apparently better than the new EGR systems cause you never heard of these old systems messin up, granted i would hate to see the amount of soot in that intake and can only imagine if someone tried tweaking the pump a bit how big of a mess it would make in there

ya I'm sure that intake is CAKED in soot man. Can you say black cloud of death if he touches the pump?

Ya but unless your really putting some power down I was to the understanding that an aftermarket intakes manifold does next to nothing? Of course, I'm sure 12vcummins96 is far from stock haha

Turn up the fuel it takes less then 30 minutes and doesn't cost a thing. Just turn the starwheel all the way out and slide or remove the fuel plate and you'll blow some smoke. bigger injectors such as bosch marine injectors are around 500 bucks and they add power and smoke but you'll definitely want a egt gauge if you get them.

Because when that trck gets turned up it's gonna blast all that soot and excess fuel and creat tugboat amounts of smoke
