i have an 01 Duramax with 140k on it, lately ive been gettin more into dragracing and sled pulling. all i have done right now is DiabloSport Predator, Intake, and exhaust. soon to get EFI live, even more power. but at the moment my tranny gives out going into 5th gear when i get on it. i know its part of the Allisons "smart" transmission feature. i was just curious on what transmission would be best for me, ive looked at kits on the internet, but still am undecided, some first-hand information would be nice, thanks.

 

The Alison is a smart transmission and it will try to keep it self from being hurt, but the stock one wont take a beating for long. most people use a 90hp tune daily. anything more used more aggressively will surely shorten the life of the transmission.
