my dad just bought an 06 6.0 he pulled the camper one time to gettysburg and back bout 150 mile trip. the engine light came on and it took ford dealers about 2 weeks to figure out that the vgt vaines were stuck because the turbo sooted up. keep tellin him to put an air box and open the exaust up to let it breath but he wont listen. even the head mechanic from the dealer told him it would solve all issues but hes hard headed as hell.

Air intake and exhaust may help a bit but an egr delete is the fix, if you can not talk him into an air intake than an EGR delete might be a tough sell. Tell him to run it hard and open it up when he can, the grocery-getters are will soot up fast!
