Default 02 7.3 Buying advice

ive already posted about buying a 7.3 but wanted some more opinions im looking at a 7.3 with 10" lift with procomp 38.5 inch tires on 20" eagle alloy rims. it has 165k miles transmission was rebuilt 8k miles ago has a brand new wiring harness, steering rod and ball joints were replaced around 7k miles ago. brand new ats5 converter and ts performance chip. banks waste gate and its got 4" straight pipe with 6" tip also was wondering what would my mpgs be in town and on highway. The owner was asking 17obo but i talked him down to 14 pretty quickly and was thinking he might be hiding something thats wrong with the truck or just wants to get rid of it pretty quickly ive test drove it two times and everythign works on it it picks up and goes doesnt seem sluggish at all. also the chip thats in the truck when they turn it up to blow smoke the transmission light comes on is that normal or is that bad

just keep looking man. Ive looked at at least 100 trucks in the past few years all split up between the 3 that ive owned. THe truck may seem like a good deal and has everything you want but dont pass up signs of something wrong. A transmission light no matter what usually is not a good sign. I have gottem very lucky with the 3 that i have waited on. You will come across one that you just know is it. Wait for it and the price and truck will be right.

ATS 4R100? Run...don't walk the other way!

You could try looking farther north, older trucks don't hold their value as well up here but they are also exposed to a LOT of salt. Fords especially do not take that well.
