Hey guys right now i have a 91 5.9L 12v cummins but im currently looking for the 7.3. Id like to know the best year for these trucks and what to look for when i do get one such as any problems that are easy to recognize. Im new to powerstrokes and i'm willing to learn. Also id like to know anything about the turbo sound of these trucks and how to open them up (chips,cold-air, wicked wheel etc...) any input would be appreciated.

 

Best year completely depends on what you want to do with it. They only got better as the years went on, more options, better interiors and such.

If your looking to build more then 400hp then stick to the 1999.5-2000 model years as they come with Forged rods over the powdered metal in the 2001-2003 years.
