Southbend clutch
My goals and admirations for the truck put me around 450 at the wheels. I run the truck daily so I want to keep it as driveable as possible. The truck on occasioin see's a 15 thousand pound load and where I live there is no flat land.
The truck is stock as of now but is a high performance clutch going to be a big headache without the power?
Which do I want the single or double and Am I gonna have to worry about input shafts at that power level?

i tow a 40' flatbed that weighs 10k empty every day and we put the 375hp/800ft lb southbend clutch in our truck a month ago, about 8 or 10k miles and it works very good its just noisy as hell.
I just finished installing a Valair 450hp rated clutch in my rig. I just took it out yesterday for the first time and have to comment on the idle rattle. It's noticeably loud and it's the vibration of the engine being transferred to the trans causing the gears to rattle some. Goes away the moment you rev past 900 rpms, disengage the clutch, or when you preload the gear some with the clutch engaged. It's non existent while driving and there's a slight load/resistance on the transmission.
From what I can read, it's a common compliant with clutches (Southbend included) that use stiff hub springs. You'll find several videos of it on youtube if you want to listen.

I'm not going to be doing any sled pulls or any drag racing. The 6 speed is only good at pulling heavy loads and even then it doesn't like the gears it get's forced to go into. The double disc is a good bit more money right?
