Default Trans Temps

i got a rebuilt tranny with around 50k on it. Its not built pretty much stock rebuild according to the paperwork that came on it when i bought the truck. i have a temp gauge and i was wondering what were the normal temp ranges for city driving, towing, cruising should be.

Anywhere between 70 and 100 if you arent doggin it.

Ya No.... My trans temp gauge doesn't even start until 100...

OP, somewhere between 130-180 depending on a lot of things.

General rule of thumb is 80-100 above ambient temps...

well i run about 130 when cruising. 160 in town and i hit 190 a few times when i was really beating on it. seems normal to me but just thought i would ask

Mine is "built" and runs 180 in town I am assuming because there is no air flow and 150 on the freeway because of the air flow.

Yep, Mine runs hotter in stop and go vs freeway...
