Default ???early 99 hard start???

New to forum and glad to be a member. Have read a lot of issues on this but still not specific enough for the problem I'm encountering. Tried starting this morning, cranks fine then rolls over once. Get the WTS light and voltage is o.k. Spent about 10 min of this and it began to roll over a few more times. 5 mins later, it starts. Has had a new fuel heater 2 winters ago, new glow plugs, harness's, and relay last winter. I also just installed 2 new batteries yesterday. I had talked with my mech and he mentioned a possible compression issue. I did notice some white to blue smoke last year before the glow plugs but not since. Would compression be an issue??????

Mine acts up in the morning. I work 3rds and do not have a place to plug in. Frustrating Ready to trade her off. Seems to be getting worse every year. Maybe its just old age!!

How many miles? Have you checked the GPR? They can and do fail quite often... Install a wire on the motor side of the GPR and run it in the cab, put a LED there, then you know if the GPR is closing or not...

I would bet that is your issue, but it could be a leaking HPO issue, be it O rings, ICP sensor or IPR its hard to say with the info you have given...

Truck has 237,000 on it. Pretty good idea of installing an in cab indicator from the relay. Never thought of that. Thanks

Sounds like a glow plug issue to me...
