I have a 1999 F350 with a 7.3. When I start the truck it starts to drip diesel from a tube on the right front of the engine. Can someone tell me if this is normal or is there something wrong to cause this . Please help

 

Its not normal... but its a rather easy fix...

Its the fuel bowl drain... Look at the fuel bowl, you will see a yellow lever on the left front of the bowl (I think... been a while since I have had a fuel bowl..), first try opening and closing it a few times, that my or may not fix the issue. If not you need to get a rebuild kit for the valve, I'll have to dig up the link but several places sell the o rings you will need...

IIRC its less then $20.

DO NOT take it to the dealer, they will rape you for a new fuel bowl to the count of $400+

Anybody got a part number for the rebuild I have the same problem. Tried the lever and Im still leaking every morning on start up. Thanks

LEAK IS FIXED!! I had a minor freak out but CSI was there as usual and now its done! Ya know CSI, you said this would be a "rather easy fix".... Dude I need to shrink before I try to get up in there again Huge thanks man. I appreciate it. You will probably hear from me again
