Couple different things can cause this.

Injector driver module, harness under the valve cover, valve cover gasket where the harness passes through it.

Pull the valve cover on the affected bank and see if the harness is plugged into the gasket.

DO NOT BACKPROBE WIRES THEY ARE EXTREMELY HIGH VOLTAGE AND WILL KILL YOU!!!!!!

Make sure the harness is plugged in good on both sides, and plugged into each injector. Do this with the key off.

I wish I could direct you a little more on teh P1316 - but my Ford access is so slow, if it was any slower it'd be going backwards. I will post up once I can get on there.

03 with a 7.3 - that's a rare machine.

Ok so I got some limited info, the site is really REALLY slow today.

Most of the diagnostic steps are pointing towards the IDM.

Where are you located?

Default Remrock

Thanks for quick help-tip MR Big Angry Hillbilly. The gasket connections were my first check & all is well. I have removed the IDM & I hope my Buddies at the Ford store can test it for me, the 400.00 to 600.00 $ price tag makes me want to make sure thats the problem.
THANK YOU, Remrock

If you're anywhere close to Detroit I got a spare you can use to test.

Oh an shake the IDM and see if it sounds like there's water in it. Real good place to put it Ford

FWIW - One of my customers got one from Rock Auto and it was DIRT cheap.

You can also call Larry at Superior Turbo and Injection - FanClutch.com - heavy duty fan clutches and fan blades for all trucks and cars he will hook you up - Tell him I sent you.
