Hi. I have a 2001 7.3 with about 180k. It runs and drives awsome but it has started to act funny. Only about 30% of the time when I put it into drive it won't go anywhere enless I give it some throttle and then it will slide in to gear. When it is in gear it shifts perfect. What could this be?

 

have you checked the linkage? The below area that actually puts it into drive?
sounds to me like it just isn't being put into gear all the way sometimes.

 

did you ever resolve this issue? im currently having it right now...
