My Friend has a F-250 7.3 2001, when it rains it shuts off anytime you take your foot off the gas pedal, anytime it's idling . We have tried hooking it to the computer but the check engine light doesan't stay on long enough to get a reading. We have tried several time spraying water into the engine but it does not turn off, only when it rains. any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

What cps does he have? Some aftermarket ones have this problem when the wipers are turned on.

 

That might be the problem because the truck was wrecked and rebuilt before he bought it. I will ask him. Thank you
