Your gauge or probe is shot. Check the wires from there to the gauge and make sure there are no other cuts or splices in them. You can NOT change the length of an Autometer pyro wire. If you do it will not read correctly.

Well i took pictures on Saturday night and moved the wires around a little bit. I went for a little drive today just to go pick up my son from school 2 blacks away and its working now it moved up and down with acceleration and deceleration so IDK whats up its never really moved since I bought the truck but me fiddling with it did something I guess. i was at a stop for a minute or two and snapped a pic and my probe is in my down pipe???? i guess right by my turbo I've heard that you just add 100* mentally over what the gauge says what do you guys say

Remember your not watching EGT's to protect the turbo, your watching them to protect the pistons.

If you purchased an new probe, before you install it, you might want to consider re-locating it to the manifold as mentioned earlier.
If you do, you'll need to plug the existing hole in your up-pipe. A steel pipe plug will work nicely.
