Normal egt's
What are your normal egt's running around town???? I hear everyone to watch them and to worry so just curious what's high and what's low

Depends on your mods and such, but normal PRE TURBO egt's will be 500-700* at 55mph.
Higher alt will cause higher EGT's... Red line is 1250*. You can go over that for short periods of time, passing, racing and such, but 1250* is where you are on your own. IH rates the motor for 1250* sustained egt's. You can tow all day at 1250*, but when your over that, your on your own. |
Ya, I think somethings wrong with mine I have autometer gauges. It only goes to the 2 mark and sometimes a little bit over it...

It has a splice in it, is that normal?
How do I know if its the probe or gauge that's bad? And do I have to get an autometer or does it not matter sent from my F-350 |
They do have a splice in them... However that is not a location I would install a pyro probe. While it is pre-turbo, its 12-15" away from the best location.
Something is wrong with your gauge if its only showing 200*. |
