Flop? as in?

Your gauge or probe is shot. Check the wires from there to the gauge and make sure there are no other cuts or splices in them. You can NOT change the length of an Autometer pyro wire. If you do it will not read correctly.

You can adjust the length of an Isspro pyro wire, EV-2 or Performax.

There is always a single splice, as shown in your picture. There should not be any more.

Well i took pictures on Saturday night and moved the wires around a little bit. I went for a little drive today just to go pick up my son from school 2 blacks away and its working now it moved up and down with acceleration and deceleration so IDK whats up its never really moved since I bought the truck but me fiddling with it did something I guess. i was at a stop for a minute or two and snapped a pic and my probe is in my down pipe???? i guess right by my turbo I've heard that you just add 100* mentally over what the gauge says what do you guys say

How do I know if its the probe or gauge that's bad? And do I have to get an autometer or does it not matter

If its in the location of the picture in this post its in a preturbo location. Which is fine, I dont like the location, because you are already 18" away from the hottest location.

Remember your not watching EGT's to protect the turbo, your watching them to protect the pistons.

If you purchased an new probe, before you install it, you might want to consider re-locating it to the manifold as mentioned earlier.
If you do, you'll need to plug the existing hole in your up-pipe. A steel pipe plug will work nicely.

Here's some info on doing the drill/tap method for the thermocouple if you need it:

As of now I'm not going to get a new one it seems to be working but freeway speeds around 75 mph I read between 700-800 so if I add 100 to that because of my location I'm running 800*-900*

You dont need to add anything... Your location is still preturbo... It might be 25-30* lower then the manifold, but not 100*
