Aight that was just a hunch

 

I've heard of people saying that the '97s varied from the typical 90cc injector in the powerstrokes to a 98cc injector, but me personally, I have not seen any proof of them having 98cc injectors.

 

Well thank you everyone. I was just curious why some sound different than others, i will have to ask my buddy if his is a cali truck. I have also heard the same about AA codes being 98cc?

 

Not sure man.. I really dont know. But I'd bet it's all in your (or their) tunes, the hpop, or something like that.

Hi guys. I just signed up. This a great place to get problem's answered. I have a 1997 HD direct injection, Bought it new and leaving the dealer it sounded like the motor was about to fall apart. That was 250 thousand miles ago. It still sounds the same with a few minor problems.

 

ive noticed a change in sound when i run 2 stroke mix

 

97MY could come with a 90cc per 1000 AA injector or a 120cc per 1000 AB injector

AB's are split shot,

AA's are single shot.

There is no such thing as a 98cc PSD injector.
