Hi,is there a way to start a 7.3 without the steering column, dash is still in truck.
What wires could you energize to get pcm to light up without burning pcm, need to start engine to prove that it is good, thanks

ok. this would be attached to the bottom of the steering column. it might not be there. it's a white box with a metal peg sticking out. this is your ignition switch. if you push on it, it should have multiple spots where it stops, just like turning the key on. go as far as it will go, the last position will spring back. just like using a key.

ok. it's a rather large plug with several wires coming out of it. adn i belive there is an 8 mil bolt in the plug. it might be tucked up under the dash. why is the steering column removed?

Default starting psd

the steering column was removed the truck has turned into a money pit,
too many miles and trany bit the dust, scraping truck.
There was a black block with bolt in it is this what was talked about,we were under
the impression that there was rod going from ignition key to box, will go out and look at box
with bolt again,thanks

Went out and looked at black connector there is a bolt in it but it is a female connection
I would be willing to bet there was a electrical connection from steering column to this black connector, thanks
