Default I have 6.0, looking at 6.4

i currently have a 05, 6.0 with 81000. Have had no problems until now, replaced pcm last month and is now in shop for egr problems. I don't trust this truck any longer, especially since warranty end in two weeks. Last night looked at a new 2010 6.4. Kind of angry at Ford thinking about GMC. What do you think.

I joined the diesel bombers forum today just to comment on this thread. I have an 08 f250 with a spartan tuner running the 250hp tune. As for removing the DPF the tuner is what fools the computer into thinking its still there after you remove it. IF you take it off or hollow it out or whatever without tuning the truck it will go into a constant regen and your mileage will get worse.

As for mileage after the spartan I dont believe anyone who says thety are getting 23mpg out of a 6.4 Its a plain and simple lie. Now what i do know is that a lot of people are going off what the display on the dash is saying they are getting as opposed to hald calculated mileage numbers.

Before i tuned my truck i was getting 10mpg in town and about 14 on the highway. After installing the spartan 250hp tuner, AFE intake and DPF delete i get almost 13 in town and about 17 on the hwy. I do know that spartan owners who run the 275hp tune do tend to get better mileage than the people who run the 250 or lower tunes.

I hope this helps clarify how the spartan tuner or even the SCT tune will help you. If it were mine to do all over again i would def choose the spartan over anything out there. The support is awesome and the power and mileage gains are simply unmatched!!!

Have you actually read it? If you had, you'd know it doesn't say anything of the sort.

anyone read the picture of the modifications tag that ForcedInduction has shown above. Is it just me, or does it seem like it reads that Ford will not cover warranty failures if they are related to an aftermarket mod, but will cover failures of the EPA emmisions products (even if related to a mod). Meaning regardless of the situation, the DPF is to be covered under warranty as it is essential to clean emmissions.
