I talked to a guy the other day, he had 08 6.4ps 3/4ton 4x4 crew cab short bed, said he was only getting 10-12mpg out of it. He didn't say if this was town or highway or what combo of the two.

At that point, whats the purpose of having a diesel. You could buy a ford V10, and get great pulling ability, and the same MPG, with less fuel cost, since diesel is so expensive. Makes me glad I have my cummins that gets 16-17 mpg.

Well that is a pretty new engine at 3500 miles. Diesel Power got a f250 with the 6.4 up to 19mpg on the highway...but that was just one test so I don't know how fair that represents the 6.4. I think overall, all of the new engines will have lower mpg then their predecessors due to regeneration, which increases fuel consumption and probably negates any positive effect by the DPF....stupid EPA
