I haven't added any additives, What I'm going to do is add a better air-filter & see If I get better MPG.

Mine is about the same as stud08 - I got 31,000 on mine and has been that since i got it in Nov 07 - I've been a die hard Ford fan since I was knee high to a short grasshopper but somebody hit it on the head with the term 'powerJOKE' when it comes to the 6.4 - that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.............

I have a 2001, F250. I get 20.3 mpg on the hwy, at 68 mph. I also get 16.0 mpg pulling a 34' Avion camper at 60 mph. Don't know how much in town. I have the big round after market air filter under the hood. Also, straight exhaust. No additives in fuel. Use Castoll Tection Oil. 6 Speed tranny. 7.3 motor. Synthetics in Diff. 268,000 miles on it. If I stay under 2000 RPM, milage is good. When over 2000 rpm. mpg goes down The next thing I want is aux. overdrive, or larger O.D. tires. The manual trans and motor combo is said to be 275 HP out the box. It should not be a problem to handle the overdrive or tires. I use this truck for my Hot Shot buisness, and check the MPG often. I had bad mpg once. No codes came up. But I did change the CPS. (Ford Recall) Brought MPG and Horse Power and torque up. The reason I know the HP and torque went up, was when I got on the highway and floored it, the clutch slipped! It didn't do it before.

I have a Job 3 truck, factory standard gearing is still 3.73 - I believe you can get a 3.55 now, but you have to order the truck that way.

3.23 would likely be the way to go.
