Cruise Control Inoperative Diagnose

Cruise Control Inoperative Diagnose
Got around to making a video on this common complaint finally. Usually very frustrating as it can be intermittent more often than just totally inoperative. The number one cause of the cruise not working is the brake pressure deactivator switch. In this video I show you a simple way to test it as it is the first thing I look at when a car comes in the shop with cruise control issues. Hope this helps.

Check the black with a violet stripe wire at pin 5 harness side of the clockspring connector it should be a constant ground. If that is ok then either the connectors for the control switches became unplugged under the airbag (unlikely) or the clockspring ribbon has broken. Either one would affect all the controls as they all rely on that same ground and you say all are inop. Check it out. Column shroud is easy enough to get off.

Ill definatly check this out. Thanks. So To access all of this i can just take the column shroud off? Also i have a code 19 for the airbag light and i was thinking it was causing the buttons to not work. Im new to the ford trucks and was also wondering if the front center cover with the small ford emblem where the airbag and horn would be pops off as well.
